Quick Economic Factoid

A little comparison between average worker salary and average executive salary in multiple countries. Notice that (ignoring the US) the ratio goes up as economic success goes down. For example, in Japan an executive makes 11x as much as their workers while in Mexico it’s 47x as much. Oh, and the US (since the “Reagan Revolution”) is at 475x.

Country Executive:Worker Pay
Japan 11:1
Germany 12:1
France 15:1
Italy 20:1
Canada 20:1
South Africa 21:1
United Kingdom 22:1
Hong Kong 41:1
Mexico 47:1
Venezuela 50:1
USA 475:1

You have to wonder why our executives think they deserve to be paid 43 times as much as their Japanese counterparts…
